Leading Tier One Auto Supplier Supplier’s City Selects Apriso to Extend Logistics Execution System

Combined Operations and Logistics Execution Capabilities Delivers Sequenced Shipping, Kitting Pick-to-Light and Returnable Container Management Solution

(Long Beach, CA - November 7, 2006) — Apriso® Corporation, a provider of adaptive operations execution solutions for manufacturing, announced today that Supplier´s City (a Mazón Group company), a third-party logistics provider (3PL) serving the automotive industry from Hermosillo, Mexico, has selected Apriso’s FlexNet to extend their logistics execution system to enable delivery of components on a Just-In-Time (JIT) sequenced basis to leading automotive OEMs. 

FlexNet is a global manufacturing software platform and suite of applications that allows manufacturers to easily deploy, execute, manage, monitor, track and trace their operations through an adaptive manufacturing process approach. The Apriso solution will provide sequenced shipping and warehousing capabilities, sequenced kitting, pick-to-light and returnable container management functions in support of sequenced shipping to automotive OEM assembly operations. The contract begins immediately and will be implemented in phases over the next six months.

Recently a leading automotive manufacturer with operations in Hermosillo issued a mandate to its suppliers that certain parts require delivery on a Just-In-Time sequenced basis. Because of their extended FlexNet implementation, Supplier City is now positioned to meet this new mandate and help their automotive manufacturing customers adapt to quickly changing customer demand.

Supplier’s City, originally installed Apriso’s FlexNet adaptive operations execution solution in 2005 to help manage receiving, kitting, staging and distribution of raw materials and assembled components. Supplier’s City also uses FlexNet to manage customs and importation processes and coordinates transportation requirements for tier two and three automotive suppliers that outsource their warehousing and kitting operations.
