APRISO, INDUSTRY WEEK WEBCAST TO OFFER COMPETITIVE STRATEGIES FOR GLOBAL MANUFACTURERS, WEDNESDAY, JULY 19

Event to Explore How Best-in-Class Manufacturers Are Deploying Global Manufacturing Strategies and Architectures

(Long Beach, CA - July 17, 2006) – Apriso Corporation, a provider of adaptive software platforms for manufacturing operations execution, and IndustryWeek magazine, will co-present a Web-based seminar exploring competitive strategies and architectures for global manufacturing, Wednesday, July 19 at 11 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time.

Themed, “Global Manufacturing:  How Best-In-Class Manufacturers are Beating the Competition,” the event will provide information on how to gain competitive advantage by synchronizing manufacturing operations across multiple facilities and geographies.

As enterprises become increasingly distributed, and supply networks more geographically disbursed, and companies increase their use of contract manufacturers, organizations are challenged to remain agile and profitable.  Manufacturing IT infrastructures – typically made up of disparate legacy systems – become increasingly complex and difficult to manage, and visibility to key operational areas and the supply network becomes compromised.

The Webinar seeks to address those issues by offering tips and strategies on managing diverse sets of manufacturing plants, suppliers and contract manufacturers, and simplifying and rationalizing complex IT infrastructures to support operations.

The key to gaining competitive advantage in today’s global manufacturing is two-fold, according to Michael Bitter, senior analyst of Aberdeen Group, who will offer his insights as part of the online event.

“First, you need an IT infrastructure that can manage multiple, disparate deployments with agility – if you re-configure settings in one location, you need to be able to quickly adjust similar settings in other locations,” Bittner says.  “But most importantly, you need to integrate your multiple systems on a single virtual database for visibility.  It needs to be flexible enough to coordinate activity across multiple plants and geographies, and let you drive decisions down to a specific plant floor, regardless of its location.”

During the Web cast, Tom Comstock, Apriso’s senior vice president of product management, will discuss challenges customers are facing as they shift to global operations models, and how Apriso is helping to address those challenges.  Adrienne Selko, IndustryWeek online editor, will serve as moderator.

The first 100 attendees to register for the Webcast will receive a free $10 certificate to Amazon.com  To register, go to http://www.industryweek.com/Webcasts/071906Eventregistration.aspx?eventID=202&ref=APR3.  Participants are urged to access the site at least 15 minutes before the event to download the required software.
