Technical Writer – Krakow, Poland

We’re searching for a candidate, who can come into a fast moving environment within the manufacturing software and services industry and take ownership of developing and maintaining “how-to” documentation for new and existing features of the company product. We are looking for a communication professional who can take very difficult to understand technical language and break it down into easy to read and understand language for the target user group.

The focus of this work is to write technical content for both our customers and employees, including user guides, installation and maintenance manuals, specifications, online documentation, training materials, etc.

Position Responsibilities:

    • Maintain, improve quality and coverage of both internal and external documentation
    • Contribute to the documentation review and approval process
    • Interact with product management, development and quality assurance personnel to expand knowledge about the product and ensure necessary information is documented
    • Provided there is an operational requirement as determined by the Employer, demonstrate a willingness to take on a function which may be reasonably expected of her/his role, however, may be different from the one originally assigned

Essential Position Requirements:

    • Minimum one year experience in a technical writing role
    • Basic knowledge of SQL, XML
    • Familiarity with Windows Server technologies
    • Knowledge of software creation, testing methodology and tools supporting testing
    • Good handle on software technologies
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and to work effectively under pressure
    • Independence, responsibility, and diligence
    • Excellent communication skills and good team spirit

Additional Position Requirements:

    • Experience in preparing and/or giving training
    • Experience in software testing and programming
    • Familiarity with technical information authoring tools (e.g. Adobe RoboHelp, MadCap Flare)
    • Experience with Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and/or WMS
    • Basic knowledge of Windows Server environments
    • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript, SQL
    • Understanding .NET technologies

Education:

    • Master's degree in technical field, preferably Computer Science/Information Technology; alternatively English Philologist but passionate about and understanding software technologies
    • Fluency in English, both written and spoken (ideally a Native Speaker)
