Apriso Webcast:
Bridging the Gap between PLM's Virtual World and Real World MES
Duration: 50 Minutes
Learn how the value of a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) can be greatly enhanced when its data is incorporated within a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) program. This presentation will demonstrate how the digital manufacturing process world of PLM benefits by incorporating a feedback loop between PLM and MES, thereby showing differences between what was conceptualized during the initial design stage and what was actually built.
By linking data collected from the ‘real’ world during production from all factories and production lines to the blueprints and designs established in the ‘virtual’ world of product development, manufacturers can globally benefit from:
- Reducing development time
- Optimizing production
- Increasing overall quality output
Creating a feedback loop between MES, PLM and ERP supports the implementation and execution of Continuous Improvement and Lean initiatives, all designed to remove excess costs and waste from the entire manufacturing process. Narrowing the gap between the virtual and real world with MES just might help you widen your gap of net income, a worthy end goal.
