Apriso Continues Record Revenue Expansion with 62 Percent Year-Over-Year Growth

Sustained growth attributed to delivering high impact, quick return on investment solutions

(LONG BEACH, CA – October 23, 2008) – Apriso, a leading provider of adaptive software solutions for global Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM), today announced record results for the third quarter 2008.  For the quarter, total revenue increased by 62 percent on a year-over-year basis, once again surpassing industry analyst growth expectations of 12.5 percent for the Manufacturing Operations Management industry.*  Growth was fueled by new customer wins, which expanded Apriso’s market share in the automotive, industrial & heavy equipment, life sciences and consumer goods industries across its European, Americas and Asia Pacific operations.

“We are extremely pleased with Apriso’s revenue results to date for 2008, driven by the extraordinary value our customers realize from an Apriso solution,” explained Jim Henderson, president and CEO of Apriso.  “Manufacturers are increasingly choosing Apriso because we are delivering real improvements to their bottom line by reducing operational costs and releasing working capital that was previously tied up in idle inventory, two benefits that are increasingly important in these volatile and uncertain economic conditions.”

Customer Activity
Apriso revenue growth was driven by new customer wins and continued expansion from existing customers’ enterprise deployments.  In the third quarter, global manufacturers repeatedly chose Apriso to improve material synchronization, enhance production efficiency and improve quality.  During 2008, several initial site deployments went “live” in less than six months.  Other customers achieved multi-site implementations in record time, expediting the benefits from their Apriso solution.  Each of these activities has effectively accelerated ROI metrics, supporting new and expanded purchases.  Key quarterly transactions include:

  • Leading global provider of automotive Powertrain assemblies (34 locations)
  • International agricultural equipment manufacturer and distributor (new customer)
  • European based consumer goods manufacturer (2 sites; expansion)
  • Japanese automotive parts supplier (3 sites, as a new customer)
  • International engine manufacturer (1 additional site)

In addition, a total of four customer sites went ‘live’ during the third quarter.

New Partnerships
Atos Origin now counts itself as an Apriso partner.  The partnership is actively implementing FlexNet at one of the world’s largest truck manufacturers, designing a set of standardized best practice business processes for seamless integration of their global manufacturing operations across existing plant automation systems.

Product Updates
In August, Apriso released a major update to its flagship product, FlexNet, with the release of FlexNet v9.4 Service Pack 1.  Delivering much more than just a traditional Manufacturing Execution System (MES), the newly improved FlexNet Operations Execution System supports greater agility, lower cost of quality and improved operations performance.  The release also included a new application, FlexNet Just-In-Sequence, which offers the unique benefit of virtually eliminating idle inventories on the shop floor, providing a positive impact on free cash flow and manufacturing performance.

Industry Recognition
During the third quarter of 2008, Apriso was awarded MBT magazine's Annual Innovation Insight Award, based on the company’s industry leading global process management solution, which enables the creation and distribution of the business processes used to manage global manufacturing operations.  This industry recognition was based on the Apriso implementation at Volvo CE.
