Apriso Reports Record Results for Fourth Quarter and Year-End 2007

Worldwide market share growth supported by growing demand for improved visibility, control and synchronization of manufacturing operations management

(LONG BEACH, CA – March 4, 2008) – Apriso, a provider of adaptive software solutions for global manufacturers, today announced the Company’s largest comparative quarter-over-quarter software license revenue growth of 86% and total revenue growth of 45%for the fourth quarter 2007, contributing to the completion of a record year in 2007.

Revenue was well balanced between automotive, aerospace & defense, mill products, consumer goods and medical device manufacturers worldwide.  Growth in new customers was driven by the need for improved visibility, control and synchronization of operations to improve agility, especially when distributed across multiple production and supply chain locations.

2007 was an outstanding year for our business in many measures.  We’re proud to achieve another consecutive year of exceeding expectations,” stated Jim Henderson, president and CEO of Apriso.  “We believe our expanding backlog of new customers in 2007, made up of many global enterprises making enterprise-wide decisions, demonstrates an inflection point in our business.  Customers are now recognizing the growing importance of extending the value of enterprise applications by integrating business systems with manufacturing operations.  This is a growth trend we expect to continue going forward.”

Expanding Enterprise Customer Base
Notable new customer additions and ‘go-lives’ during the fourth quarter include Scandinavian Tobacco, with headquarters in Denmark and facilities in Poland and Latvia, that will be implementing Apriso FlexNet® as an enterprise application to simplify complex business processes while ensuring adequate traceability to control usage and distribution of raw material flows.  British American Tobacco (BAT) went live with FlexNet at their third plant in Singapore, helping to improve logistics management, supporting an increased production volume from 12 to over 30 billion cigarettes a year, as well as an increase in the number of brands in production at this site from 30 to over 250.

Summarized 2007 Customer Activity:

  • 17 new FlexNet customers were added, with implementations targeted at 75+ globally dispersed sites
  • 18 new and existing FlexNet customers had successful ‘go-lives’ at more than 36 sites across the globe, using both internal Apriso and leading global system integrators personnel
  • 40 country global footprint of FlexNet, based on a fourth quarter go-live at a leading global packaging company in Russia
  • 10 new and existing FlexNet customers committed to implement FlexNet as an “Enterprise MES” or global manufacturing operations management solution, recognizing the strategic advantages of integrating globally distributed operations for improved performance and visibility

Industry Embraces Enterprise MES Trend
During 2007, the market for manufacturing software solutions embraced Apriso’s unique approach to Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM), evidenced by research and communications distributed by industry analyst groups, including AMR Research, ARC Advisors, Aberdeen Group and Gartner, Inc.  A growing shift now exists from traditional Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to globally collaborative solutions needing business process integration across the enterprise.  This transformation is validated by increased demand from manufacturers for standardized, integrated global operations execution systems.

According to Andrew Hughes and Dan Miklovic of Gartner Inc. in their MarketScope for Manufacturing Operations Management, 2007 Industry Research issued December 21, 2007, “All our clients are looking at the business implications and benefits of global standardization at the MOM layer and starting to see it for what it should be — the bottom layer of the business-IT hierarchy rather than the top layer of the control hierarchy.”

First in Enterprise Operations Management
“Apriso has been a first mover and leading influencer in the market’s embrace of global standardization at the MOM layer,” said Chris Will, CTO and vice president of development at Apriso.  “Building FlexNet on a Services Oriented Architecture (SOA) eases integration of business processes across the enterprise, through one unified data model.  Our customer’s are choosing Apriso for its collaborative global platform, providing seamless integration between enterprise applications and the plant floor.”

In 2007, upgraded FlexNet applications have enabled this industry transition including Business Process Builder 2.0, Quality Execution & Management 2.1 and Machine Integrator 2.0, each comprised within the Apriso FlexNet platform, designed to help improve operational agility, visibility and performance.
